Delete your account
You can delete your Wearit account, and every image it holds, from inside the app. This page explains what that removes, what is kept, how long it takes, and what to do if you can no longer open the app.
None of it can be recovered. There is no undo and no grace period.
How to delete your account
In the Wearit app, or on the web app:
- Open Settings.
- Open Privacy and data.
- Choose Delete my account, and confirm.
The same screen also has two smaller deletions, if the whole account is more than you wanted: Delete my photo removes the photograph you uploaded and the studio pictures made from it while leaving your account and your looks alone, and Delete all my looks removes your generated images and keeps everything else.
What deleting your account removes
- The photo you uploaded, and the studio pictures made from it.
- Every look you have made, and the screenshots and item pictures behind them.
- Your closet — every garment in it, and its picture.
- Your likes, and every share link you created — anyone holding one sees nothing.
- The record of what you agreed to, and when.
- Your sign-in, and the account itself.
- Everything the app has kept on this device, including the images it had cached.
These are files, not records pointing at files. Deletion removes the stored images themselves from every place we keep them, and the account is only closed once none are left — so there is no state in which your account is gone and your photographs are not.
Share links stop working immediately. Anyone still holding a link you created sees nothing.
What is kept, and why
- Crash and analytics records
- Which screens were opened and which actions failed, plus crash diagnostics. These never contain your photographs or any link to them, they are not tied to your images, and they expire on our providers’ own schedule — the privacy policy names those providers.
- A report you filed about somebody else's image
- The report stays so the team can still act on it, with your identity removed from it. Reports about your images go when your images go.
Nothing else is kept. We do not retain a shadow copy of your photographs, a “deleted accounts” archive, or your email address for marketing. The same email address can start again later as a brand new account, with nothing carried over.
How long it takes
It happens while you wait. Deletion runs as you confirm it, not as a job queued for later: the images are removed first, across every store we keep them in, and the account itself is closed last, only once nothing is left. When the screen tells you it is done, it is done.
If anything cannot be removed, the deletion stops and says so rather than reporting success, and your account stays open so it can be tried again. In that unlikely case, write to us at the address below and we will finish it by hand.
Backups are the one exception to “immediately”, as they are for any service: copies may persist in encrypted infrastructure backups for a short period before those backups roll over. They are never used to restore a deleted account.
If you cannot open the app
If you have uninstalled Wearit, or you cannot sign in, email privacy@wearit.now from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm it is yours, delete it, and reply when it is done. We respond within one month, and usually much sooner.
Do not send us a photograph or any other document to prove who you are. The email address on the account is what we check against, and asking for more would mean collecting more of your data in order to delete your data.
